SUMMARY:NV NON RESIDENT CCW
DESCRIPTION:This course is designated for those desiring to obtain a Concealed Firearms Permit (CCW)\, permitting one to legally carry a concealed firearm on his or her person\, within the state of Nevada. Nevada Revised Statue (NRS) 202.3657(3)(c)(1\,2) states any person seeking issuance of a permit to carry a concealed firearm must: \n“(1) Successfully completed a course in firearm safety approved by a sheriff in this State; or (2) Successfully completed a course in firearm safety offered by a federal\, state or local law enforcement agency\, community college\, university or national organization that certifies instructors in firearm safety.” \nThis course is an 8 hour course of instruction and has been approved by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department\, (LVMPD) as having met the standard of training required to offer a course of instruction in carrying a concealed firearm within the state of Nevada. This course does not guarantee one issuance of a concealed firearm permit rather\, provides a certificate of training completion required to obtain a permit. Concealed firearm permits are issued at the discretion of LVMPD\, upon completion of a thorough background investigation to the satisfaction of the department. For more information regarding ones eligibility to obtain a concealed firearm permit\, please see NAC 202 for eligibility and requirements. \nSubject matters and concepts covered during this class consist of but are not limited to: Firearm use\, safety\, in and outside the home carry considerations\, restrictions\, use and de-escalation of deadly force\, nevada administrative code\, laws and Nevada revised statues pertaining to and governing the carrying of a concealed firearm in the state of Nevada\, (NAC 202&NRS 202.3657). Additional concepts discussed are crimes involving the use of a firearm\, liability legal aspects\, psychological and physiological effects of stress and life-threatening situations\, and moral and ethical decision making processes and considerations.

DESCRIPTION:This course is for new firearm owners and new shooters that have little to NO EXPERIENCE shooting. Ammunition and firearms are provided for this course. This course focuses on the absolute basics of shooting fundamentals. Subject matters covered consist of firearm safety in and outside the home\, transporting to and from shooting ranges\, and while shooting at indoor or outdoor shooting ranges. Additional topics discussed are Grip\, stance\, sight alignment\, sight picture\, trigger control\, loading\, unloading\, anticipating recoil\, follow-through\, firearms nomenclature\, general maintenance\, liability\, and legal aspects. Again\, this course is for new shooters that may have never fired a firearm or are seeking a formal beginner firearms class or a refresher\, to the elementary fundamentals of firearms shooting.
