SUMMARY:CFI Con’t Education | 2026 PILB Armed Course Curriculum Development
DESCRIPTION:Greetings\, all Nevada PILB Certified Firearm Instructors! (CFI’s)\nThe time has come to replace the outdated Armed Security Training Curriculum with a modern real-world course that can be effectively implemented across operational and time-based demands. Without a clear understanding of the facts and realities facing today’s armed security professionals\, training standards risk becoming overly complicated and outright ineffective. For this reason\, I am hosting a Certified Firearms Instructor (CFI) Continuing Education course to bring instructors together to discuss and shape the future of Nevada’s Armed Security Training Program.\nThe cost of this course has been fully covered by the Nevada Association of Certified Firearms Instructors (NVACFI)\, making it free to all currently licensed CFIs. The priority is not cost\, but collaboration—bringing instructors together to develop a curriculum grounded in education\, training\, and real-world experience\, rather than opinions from individuals who are not firearms instructors or who lack regular instructional experience.\nThis meeting will play a critical role in shaping the future of Nevada’s Armed Security Training Program and will directly impact the implementation and training requirements of pending regulations involving AR-15 platforms and shotguns. These decisions must be made by CFIs—those who stand on the line and bear responsibility when triggers are pulled. It is imperative that we actively participate in the discussions that will define the future of our profession and our state.\nTo be clear\, meetings held over the past 18 months have identified and confirmed deficiencies in the current curriculum\, recognized outdated training standards and regulations requiring correction\, and produced preliminary outlines for a completely revised training curriculum. These efforts have already received broad support from those involved. We now face a choice: to be part of the solution or part of the problem. A single voice may fade\, but a unified group will not be ignored.\nIf you are unable to attend the scheduled course date\, additional sessions will be offered in the coming weeks\, and remote participation options will also be available. For questions or additional information\, please contact the course instructor via email at Andrew@nvacfi.com.\nEquipment required for this course. \nNote-Taking Materials: Instructors are encouraged to bring any curriculums or training materials they believe may contribute to productive discussion with fellow instructors. While time is limited\, the instructor is prepared to present the issues at hand and will thoroughly consider input from other Certified Firearms Instructors (CFIs) who wish to contribute to the development of a revised training curriculum.\nLocation: 2280 East Pama Ln Suite 100\, Las Vegas NV\, 89119

SUMMARY:Armed Security Advanced Officers Training Course
DESCRIPTION:https://shotsfiredlv.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Copy-of-NEW-VIDEO-JAN-13-2025.mp4\nArmed Security Advanced Officers Training Course\nThis course is designed for currently armed security officers who are seeking to elevate their skills to the next level. Regardless of experience\, firearms skills are perishable—if they are not regularly practiced\, they diminish. This course challenges students to refine those skills and adopt a higher standard of performance. \nThis is not a beginner-level shooting course. Upon arrival\, students will be evaluated and required to complete a basic firearms qualification to assess their current proficiency. Participants must have prior experience carrying and operating with a full-duty belt and equipment. Recent experience within the last six months is preferred but not required. \nThe course emphasizes 100 percent accountability for every round fired. Instruction is centered on precision\, discipline\, and decision-making under pressure. The course introduces a “broken glass” theory of firearms use\, where indiscriminate or poorly placed shots are not excused or praised. Instead\, students are trained to place rounds exactly where intended—and equally important\, to exercise restraint and withhold fire when a proper shot is not available. \nSafety skills at this level are pushed and students are expected to maintain absolute muzzle discipline at all times. \nEquipment Required for this Course\n\nDuty Belt\, War Belt or Battle Belt\nDouble Mag Pouch\, (minimum)\nLevel II or III Holster\nRange bag (Optional)\nFully Size Duty Firearm Glock 45 or Larger Size. (Sub Compact firearms are not suitable for this course. Glock 19 or 23 size permitted if this is your primary duty weapon.)\n250 Rounds of ammunition. (Minimum. You are welcome to bring more if you choose.)\nDump Pouch (Optional not required)\nSnacks\, Sunscreen\, Eye Pro\, Ear Pro (Eyes and Ears Available is needed)\nBring Water. (Hydrate or Die!)\n\nLocation: Clark County Shooting Complex 100 Yard Lane.

SUMMARY:Firearms Instructor Development Course
DESCRIPTION:Firearms Instructor Development Course \nThis course is designed for currently licensed firearms instructors who are ready to elevate their instructional skills beyond the fundamentals and the culture we have become indoctrinated with. Becoming an effective firearms instructor does not happen overnight\, does not come naturally to everyone\, and requires deliberate practice and experience. Every instructor starts somewhere—often teaching one or two students at a time. \nIf you are prepared to learn how to confidently manage group classes of eight or more students\, this course provides the essential skills needed to effectively lead\, control\, and grow larger training environments. Firearms instruction is not typically a full-time occupation\, and only a small number of instructors teach full time. Whether you instruct on a part-time or full-time basis\, this course is designed to reignite the passion that originally inspired you to teach. \nFirearms instructors serve as gatekeepers of responsible firearms use\, ensuring safe training practices\, maintaining standards\, and reinforcing foundational basic skills. This course offers rare insight into the realities of dynamic\, real-world firearms instruction—an experience few instructors ever encounter. In just eight hours\, you will identify common pitfalls that challenge both instructors and students and learn how to avoid them. \nThis is a course you owe yourself! Ask yourself: When was the last time you were a student? If it has been six months or more\, it is time to return to the fundamentals\, reset your perspective\, and reconnect with what it means to learn from the student’s seat. \nRemember\, it’s not about us\, it’s about our students! Maintain the Standards and Stick to the Basics. \nEquipment Required for this Course:\n\nDuty Belt\, War Belt or Battle Belt\nDouble Mag Pouch\, (minimum)\nLevel II or III Holster\nRange bag (Optional)\nFully Size Duty Firearm Glock 45 or Larger Size. (Sub Compact firearms are not suitable for this course. Glock 19 or 23 size permitted if this is your primary duty weapon.)\n250 Rounds of ammunition. (Minimum. SUMMARY:CFI Con’t Education | 2026 PILB Armed Course Curriculum Development
DESCRIPTION:Greetings\, all Nevada PILB Certified Firearm Instructors! (CFI’s) \nThe time has come to replace the outdated Armed Security Training Curriculum with a modern real-world course that can be effectively implemented across operational and time-based demands. Without a clear understanding of the facts and realities facing today’s armed security professionals\, training standards risk becoming overly complicated and outright ineffective. For this reason\, I am hosting a Certified Firearms Instructor (CFI) Continuing Education course to bring instructors together to discuss and shape the future of Nevada’s Armed Security Training Program. \nThe cost of this course has been fully covered by the Nevada Association of Certified Firearms Instructors (NVACFI)\, making it free to all currently licensed CFIs. The priority is not cost\, but collaboration—bringing instructors together to develop a curriculum grounded in education\, training\, and real-world experience\, rather than opinions from individuals who are not firearms instructors or who lack regular instructional experience. \nThis meeting will play a critical role in shaping the future of Nevada’s Armed Security Training Program and will directly impact the implementation and training requirements of pending regulations involving Handgun\, AR-15 platforms and shotguns. These decisions must be made by CFIs—those who stand on the line and bear responsibility when triggers are pulled. It is imperative that we actively participate in the discussions that will define the future of our profession and our state. \nTo be clear\, meetings held over the past 18 months have identified and confirmed deficiencies in the current curriculum\, recognized outdated training standards and regulations requiring correction\, and produced preliminary outlines for a completely revised training curriculum. These efforts have already received broad support from those involved. We now face a choice: to be part of the solution or part of the problem. A single voice may fade\, but a unified group will not be ignored. \nIf you are unable to attend the scheduled course date\, additional sessions will be offered in the coming weeks\, and remote participation options will also be available. For questions or additional information\, please contact the course instructor via email at Andrew@nvacfi.com. \nEquipment required for this course. \nNote-Taking Materials: Instructors are encouraged to bring any curriculums or training materials they believe may contribute to productive discussion with fellow instructors. While time is limited\, the instructor is prepared to present the issues at hand and will thoroughly consider input from other Certified Firearms Instructors (CFIs) who wish to contribute to the development of a revised training curriculum. \nLocation: 2280 East Pama Ln Suite 100\, Las Vegas NV\, 89119
